High-Reach Cleaning FAQ | Aloft Cleaning Service Chicago
Frequently Asked Questions
Answers to the questions we hear most about high-reach cleaning, pricing, safety, and what to expect.
What is high-reach cleaning?
High-reach cleaning covers everything above roughly 8 feet that standard cleaning crews don't touch — exposed brick, ductwork, beams, rafters, ceiling fans, light fixtures, high windows, and similar areas. It's a specialty service, not part of routine floor-level cleaning.
Do I still need a regular cleaning service if I hire Aloft?
Yes. We specialize exclusively in high-reach areas and don't perform floor-level housekeeping like vacuuming carpets, wiping counters, or cleaning bathrooms. Think of us as the service that starts where your regular housekeeper stops.
How often should high-reach areas be cleaned?
It depends on the space, but most residential clients schedule high-reach cleaning once or twice a year. Commercial spaces with higher ceilings or heavier dust exposure sometimes benefit from more frequent visits. We can recommend a schedule after seeing your space.
Is high-reach cleaning safe for my home or business?
Yes. We use specialized extendable tools and HEPA-filtered vacuum systems that let us clean safely from the ground — no ladders, no standing on furniture, and no walking on roofs or high ledges. All furniture is covered before we begin.
Will cleaning make a mess of my furniture and floors?
No. Our HEPA-filtered vacuum systems capture dust and debris as we clean, rather than knocking it loose onto your furniture and floors. We also cover furnishings before starting as an extra layer of protection.
Is pricing based on the square footage of my space?
Square footage is one factor, but pricing also depends on ceiling height, how many areas need attention, and the complexity of the surfaces involved. We put together a tailored, no-obligation quote after learning more about your specific space.
How do I get a quote?
Reach out through our Contact Us page with some basic details about your space. We'll put together a free, no-obligation quote tailored to what you need cleaned, with transparent pricing.
How long does a typical cleaning take?
It varies based on ceiling height, square footage, and how many areas need attention. A single loft or condo often takes a few hours, while larger commercial spaces can take longer. We'll give you a time estimate as part of your quote.
Do you clean commercial properties, or just homes?
Both. We regularly clean offices, gyms, churches, retail spaces, and other commercial buildings with high ceilings, in addition to residential lofts and condos. No commercial property is too big for Aloft.
What areas do you serve?
We serve the Greater Chicago Metro Area, including West Loop, Lincoln Park, River North, Roscoe Village, Wicker Park, and South Loop.
Can you clean windows I can't reach from a standard ladder?
Yes. We use a pure water-fed pole system with a DI water purification unit, which cleans high windows to a spot-free, streak-free finish without a ladder.
Will you damage exposed brick or wood beams while cleaning?
No. We use tools developed specifically for different surfaces, including brick's rough texture and the finish on exposed wood beams, so we can remove dust thoroughly without damaging the material underneath.
Do I need to be home during the cleaning?
It's not required, but we do a walkthrough together once the work is finished and we're still on-site, to make sure everything meets your expectations. If you can't be present, we're happy to coordinate access and follow up afterward.
